Designated a UNESCO Global Geopark, The Burren National Park is a landscape of international geological significance, managed holistically in terms of its protection, education and sustainable development. It is one of six national parks in Ireland, covering an area of approximately 1,500 hectares. The rugged landscape lends itself to a variety of outdoor pursuits, including hiking and horse riding.
